Jesse Brown

Founder & Principal Architect | Jesse Brown Architecture

Jesse’s Architectural firm is based in Haʻikū on Maui’s North Shore. He grew up in Sewanee Tennessee and attended engineering school at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. He grew up in a windsurfing family, where traveling and adventure came hand in hand and the ocean quickly became his sanctuary and a place that made him feel like home.

In 1996, Jesse moved to Maui to pursue a career as a professional windsurfer. It was on the waves at Ho‘okipa that he not only found a home, but also met his future wife and built a family rooted in Maui’s vibrant ocean culture.

With a background in construction through a family-run contracting business, Jesse began designing speculative homes —merging technical training with a lifelong passion for architecture. This hands-on foundation quickly evolved into a full-time architectural practice grounded in craftsmanship, community, and design excellence.

Today, Jesse lives on Maui’s North Shore with his family. All of his children are accomplished surfers who compete internationally, yet his connection to the island’s lifestyle remains at the heart of his personal and professional life. Through Jesse Brown Architecture, he provides thoughtful, place-based architectural services to a tight-knit North Shore community—drawing from both practical experience and creative vision.
